The Graduate Volunteer Teacher Group of China Youth Volunteer Team was formed in 1998. And in the year 1999, the first batch of young volunteer teachers went to the west to perform their duties. In 17 years, more than 10,000 graduate volunteers have fulfilled their obligations through the program. Southeast University, who joined the program in 2003, has sent 145 volunteers in 13 years to western provinces including Inner Mongolia, Jiangxi, Shaanxi, Guizhou, Yunan and Gansu.
Zhungeer Banner in Erdos, Inner Mongolia was the first destination of SEU volunteer teachers. 8 teachers are providing service in 4 middle schools. In the following picture, volunteer teacher Zhou Jie from School of Transportation, SEU is conducting a quality development class.
In this picture, volunteer teacher Chang Cheng is delivering Geography class for his senior middle school students. He is now teaching Geography for six classes and Science for two classes. Besides 30 classes per week, he also shoulders works in School League Committee.
Zhuang Ying, another SEU volunteer teacher is responsible for Information Science Class in six classes and Science& Technology Class in four classes. After class, she is busy organizing school activities and tutoring the science group.
In one of her class, she delivered to the kids the magic of sound. Instead of simply reading the textbook, she prepared gif photos and beautiful powerpoint document to interpret the definition of sound transmission, ultrasound and infrasound. Her students were so attracted that even after the ring belt, they were stilling asking questions about sound.
Yin Haohao, a volunteer teacher who has just fulfilled his one-year task as the physics teacher for 138 senior school students in Inner Mongolia, went back to the school on October 23rd, 2015. As soon as his students discovered him in the hall, they jumped and shouted and even burst into tears.
This time, Yin brought back a special gift for his beloved students. He made a 15-mintue video in which he reviewed a lot of unforgettable moments they experienced together. He played the video in the classroom. Hao Zhixin, the president of the middle school told the journalist, as for as he knew, the volunteer teachers are keeping close relationship with the kids even when they fulfilled their duties. They had life-long influence on the students.
